about

Alps 2's 'Skeleton Argument' EP is the latest offering from the underground electronic outfit, born out of the collaboration between long-time friends and Maribou State live players Jonjo, Harry, and Jonny. Their eclectic remote setup brings a unique juxtaposition of space and intimacy, creating a soundworld that is both otherworldly and disarmingly familiar.

Described as "music for the living room, music for the dancefloor: music for the people," the EP is a must-listen for fans of evocative, thoughtful electronics and infectious, homage-paying beats. Drawing inspiration from years of crate-digging, late-night listening, and playing live, Alps 2's sound is a warm, fizzing current of energy.

In addition to their work as Alps 2, the trio is also responsible for bringing a variety of acclaimed artists to Manchester institution Ramona, including Children of Zeus, Peter Hook, Tom Ravenscroft, Jimpster, Kenny Ken, and Mayor Andy Burnham. Their work as bookers has helped to build a thriving regional scene and establish Ramona as a must-visit venue.

Alps 2 have seen support from a variety of respected sources, including BBC Radio 1's Introducing Dance with Jaguar and Pete Tong, as well as 6Music's Tom Ravescroft and Tarsza Williams. They have also been playlisted on Spotify (Fresh Finds, Noises After Dark), as well as Apple Music (Loops, New in Electronic, Electronic Pop), Deezer (New Electronic, Breakthrough Electronic) and Amazon Music (Breakthrough Electronic). Heavyweights such as Ninja Tune, Anjunadeep and Defected Records have also shown their playlist support.

With a collection of crisp cuts ready for release, Alps 2 is set to make a big impact in 2023. Don't miss the chance to experience their latest offering, 'Skeleton Argument', available on all major streaming platforms from Friday, July 7th.
